This beautiful Staunton chess set is named for Cyrus the Great, King of the Persian Empire that conquered both the Median and Babylonian empires. Cyrus was one of the great military strategists of all time and we think an appropriate name with which to honour this chess set. All of the pieces are unique in their shape and have detail unlike any other Staunton chess set. The knight is artistically designed with elegant and intricate features that are meticulously hand carved including the eyes, nostrils, mouth, teeth and a flared mane which creates movement.

The beautiful Staunton chess set pieces with the meticulously handcrafted knights are carved with perfection and expert precision.
