Dirk Dagobert van Riemsdijk is a Brazilian chess player of Dutch origin, who,
since childhood, dedicated himself to the sport. Over the years he has won several
awards and titles, not only because of his good performance in tournaments,
but also for his contribution to the development of Chess in Brazil.

Fourty years ago, Master Dirk Dagobert has created a line of chess pieces and
boards made in noble woods, with a design inspired by the famous english
model Staunton.
Throughout all these years, the pieces and game boards, produced with the perfect
balance between weight, size and design for comfort during matches, have become
famous all over the world, as a synonym for quality and beauty in chess material.

The Amazon chess set with two extra queens

Pieces of solid wood, without amendments, made out of a single block of wood. The are made of Distressed boxwood (white pieces) and Ebonywood (black pieces), with waxed/varnished finish.
The king measures 10.1 cm in height and 45mm in base. The other pieces are proportional to it.
All the pieces have a felt-lined base. The set is stored in a case veneered in imbuia and internally felt-lined.
The shade of the pieces in the photos do not reflect 100% the original color. Because they are handcrafted pieces, made in natural wood, shades may vary in each batch of pieces.Chessmen Dimensions
